Karimnagar: Hours after the Karimnagar BJP MP Bandi Sanjay was seen manhandled by the police at the protest around RTC employee’s funeral procession, the centre has sought an explanation from Telangana Police. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy on Saturday sought reports from Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Mahender Reddy over the scuffle and the alleged manhandling by the police officials on Friday.
While the striking employees, union leaders and opposition leaders tried to take Babu’s body to the RTC deport, the police force stopped them which lead to high tensions in Karimnagar. There was a heated argument between BJP MP Bandi Sanjay and police officials and the visual and pictures of the MP being mobbed were seen circulating on the social media. A police officer was seen pushing and holding the collar of the MP which drew flak from the party cadre. While Sanjay stated that he would move a privilege motion against Telangana State police in the Parliament for manhandling him, the in-charge of Karimnagar denied the allegations.
