Hours after BJP Rajya Sabha member YS Chowdary dropped a hint that centre is waiting for the right time over the capital issue, BJP national spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao made statements which left the state BJP cadre in splits. Addressing the media in Vijayawada on Monday, the senior leader made it clear that Centre will not, in any circumstances intervene in the State Capital issue. This has come in the wake of two main BJP state leaders Kanna Lakshmi Narayana and Sujana making key statements hinting that the centre is in support of the Amaravati farmer.
On this note, GVL cleared the air stating that all the views expressed by several MPs, MLAs and senior leaders of BJP are completely personal. “I am stating this as the party’s national spokesperson. I am the only spokesperson from the five southern states and I am telling you that the Centre is not going to interfere in the issue,’’ GVL said as a media person tried to intervene him. However, GLV said the Centre will interfere only if the State seeks any suggestions from it over the Capital issue.
It is a known knowledge that Kanna along with the BJP leaders sat in for the silent protest at Uddandarayunipalem, one of the 29 villages under the capital region. Days after which BJP Rajya Sabha member YS Chowdary who toured Amaravati stated that Centre will not sit quietly and will take right action in right time. This stirred debates in the state political circles as the farmers pinned their hopes on the centre to intervene in the capital issue. We have to wait and see what would be the state BJP unit’s reaction to this move from the centre government’s end.
