Three capital issue has been the most challenging decision for the first time Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. The consequences took a new twist with the Amaravati farmers intensifying the protests while the heat touched Delhi high command as well.
In a recent development, the Amaravati farmers, who have been agitating for over 500 days, on Monday announced a Padayatra to highlight their demand to shift the capital from Amaravati. Under the leadership of the Amaravati Parirakshana Committee and Rajadhani Aikasa, the walkathon will start from Tulluru to Tirumala.
As per the schedule announced, the yatra will start from November 1 to December 17. The yatra will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m while the farmers will take a break from 4 pm to 7 pm. It can be noted that the yatra came in the wake of ruling YSRCP’s thumping victory in the recent panchayat, MPTC, and ZPTC elections even in Amaravati villages as well.
Though the political analysts opined that the yatra might not change the mind of Jagan who has been stubborn over his three capital decision, it is touted to highlight the problems of the farmers.
