The name Amaravati was seen making it to the newspaper headlines from the past few days again with the war of words between the ruling YSRCP and opposition TDP. With both the parties deftly putting down the statements made by the opponent party, Chandrababu Naidu announcing his visit to the capital region has received divide responses. However, Chandrababu along with few of his senior party leaders started his tour in Amaravati on Thursday. This triggered tensions as the farmer community at the region split into two groups, one supporting ruling and others the Opposition. A section of farmers erected flexes across the roads which are questioning Chandrababu Naidu’s visit. Tensions ran high as some, allegedly, the supporters of YSRCP started pelting stones on Chandrababu’s convoy. The deployed police forces stepped into action clearing the way for the convoy. Amidst all this, Chandrababu Naidu who wasn’t ruffled by all this, reached the place where Modi laid the foundation for the capital region. In a very dramatic gesture, he was seen kissing the Amaravathi ground.
