Days after JanaSena Chief Pawan Kalyan’s long march against the sand policy turned out into a grand success, the TDP supremo and former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced his day-long fast in Vijayawada. Addressing the party cadre in the meeting organised on Tuesday, the senior leader stated that he would undertake the fast on November 14 in support of lakhs of construction workers who lost their livelihood due to the sand policy. Speaking at the event, Chandrababu demanded a free sand policy, Rs 10,000 as allowance per month and Rs 25 lakh ex-gratia to the families of those who have committed suicide.
He lashed out on the ruling party leaders who tried to bury the issue. Trusted party sources revealed that the TDP chief would ask the BJP, Jana Sena and the Congress party to support his protest. While BJP has already announced ‘Sand Satyagrah’ in Vijayawada we have to wait and see if they would convey their support to TDP.
