After the dramatic arrest of senior congress leader P Chidambaram by CBI last night, they seems to be having a tough time getting him to speak. The investigating officers who even scaled walls to urgently arrest the leader from his South Delhi residence have taken him to the in the CBI guest house, after completing the medical formalities. According to a source inside the CBI campus, getting the former finance minister to speak has been much of a challenge to the team.
Chidambaram is now facing investigations by the ED and CBI in the INX Media case and sources revealed that he is barely speaking and has preferred to remain quiet. The investigating officers’ team apparently posed about 20 questions to Chidambaram and he either evaded or gave ambigious answers. Chidambaram was later left in lock up number 5 which is under CCTV surveillance.
P Chidambaram facing allegations upon his role in two cases of alleged corruption and money laundering linked to INX Media will be produced before the Rouse Avenue court today at 2 pm. On the other hand, Chidambaram’s son Karti who is also a Lok Sabha MP took to media to deny having any connection with Peter and Indrani Mukerjea, the promoters of INX Media.
