Triggering fears over the probability of more cases, three persons who recently returned from China got admitted in one of the hospitals in Nallakunta. According to the reports, three of Hyderabad residents who visited Hong Kong a few days ago volunteered themselves to join in Fever Hospital on Sunday. It was said that the hospital authorities have collected the swab samples of the patients and sent them to National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, for nCoV testing as per the instructions from the Ministry of Health. Though there has been no official information from the hospital over the number of patients, news has it that so far five people were admitted with the symptoms of the virus.
Hospital sources revealed that a family including the two children with the symptoms were under observation, while one of the five Hong Kong returned with negative results was sent back from the hospital. Responding to the rumours over the same, Fever Hospital Superintendent Dr K Shankar confirmed that the virus is not yet diagnosed and urged the citizen to not to panic. “Hospital authorities have arranged special isolation rooms for the admitted persons. In case, the reports come positive, we were instructed to shift them to Gandhi Hospital for further treatment,” he added. On this note, a special team from Health Ministry are expected to visit Hyderabad to review the preparedness for the management of 2019-nCoV at airports and hospitals.
