Chinnababu Movie Review

Cast: Karthi, Sayesha Saigal, Satyaraj, and others
Director: Pandiraj
Music Director: D. Imman
Producer: Suriya
Release Date: 13th July 2018

Actor Karthi who amassed a huge following in Telugu has proved time and again that he is open to doing films of multiple genres and pulled off many roles like a pro.

After winning laurels for his role as an upright cop in ‘Khakee’, he is coming with a complete village drama ‘Chinababu’, the dubbed version of Tamil movie ‘Kadaikutty Singam’. Pandiraj is directing the movie.

The movie looks completely like a Tamil rural backdrop film than a Telugu one. The dialogues about farmers are catchy and inspiring but the look of the film is designed to please the Tamil audience more.

It is hard to predict if this movie will click in Telugu states too, but it may connect with B and C center audience if the content is really good. Sayyesha Saigal is playing the female lead while Satyaraj is playing the Village head.

Let’s see what’s the movie is all about.

Story:

‘Chinababu’ is a family drama which also highlights the plight of farmers. The movie’s story revolves around a big joint family of Satyaraj and his extended relatives.

Analysis:

While the first half is decent, the latter half is full of heavy doses of sentiment which may not appeal to all sections of the audience.

Verdict:

On the whole, ‘Chinababu’ is a family drama targeted for a set of audience and it clicks there. But, the unfamiliar star cast and too much of Tamil flavor might not appeal to the Telugu audience.
