Tadepalli, Tolivelugu: A lot of speculations about Chinnajiyar Swamy are doing rounds on media at this point. He finally responded to the ongoing discussion about his comments against the tribals, especially women. Swamy said that the controversy created around Medaram Sammakka Saralamma deities is quite baseless. He bashed the media while addressing them in Thadepalli for editing the video of him speaking and sharing it on social media. In the video, he is seen passing sensational comments on the tribal goddesses and communities. He said it was inappropriate to look at the precedents and criticize by showing a word spoken in the middle.
In fact, applauding the deities, Chinnajiyar said that they did not descend from heaven and that the Sammakka-Saralamma were the great ones who lived in the countryside and fought for us. “Irrespective of being Adivasis, or others by birth, they should be considered the best based on knowledge,” he said. Chinnajiyar made it clear suggesting that it is absolutely unethical promoting such edited videos to project propaganda.
He further clarified that the entry ticket to Samathamurthy temple was only to manage the maintenance expenses and nobody is charging a single penny to do any other rituals inside the temple. He urged the media platforms to not spread rumors. Further, when asked if he is aiming to enter politics, Chinnajiyar confirmed that he is in no way interested. Chinnajiyar suggested that people altogether have to develop a notion of moving forward as a collective society. He bashed the media platforms for spreading the rumors and half-baked information for the sake of publicity. Urging the people to sit down, discuss and move forward together. Praising the Ramanujacharya’s ideology about respecting all classes of people, he reminded that the Sreemannarayana Harijan Colony was built in 1938 at Attalur in East Godavari district, and the school for tribals in the Adilabad district that was started in 2004.
Further discussing the events for the day, he stated that the mangalasasanas were done for all women. “An animal, a bird, a leaf, is said to coexist with us, and in the food, we eat.
