The recent hailstorms in many parts of Telangana have caused severe hardship to farmers. Farmers were particularly hard hit in the joint Warangal district. With this, they want the government to support them. The matter was brought to the notice of Minister Errabelli during the cabinet meeting with CM KCR on Monday.
In this context, the CM KCR himself announced that he will tour the Warangal district along with the ministers. He mentioned that farmers will be asked about the situation altogether. However, sources in the CMVO office said that the visit of CM KCR Warangal was canceled due to unavoidable reasons.
Now, the sources reveal that instead of CM KCR, the team of ministers will tour the joint Warangal district. Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, Minister Errabelli, and Agriculture Field officials will visit the Warangal district to learn about the plight of farmers. On this occasion, they will inspect the crops damaged by the hailstorm.
A report will be prepared and submitted to the government. Officials had initially estimated the damage at Rs 960 crore across the joint Warangal district due to hailstorms. They claim that 100 percent damage has been caused to Chilli, maize, papaya, vegetables, and sorghum crops in 18 zones of Narsampet, Parakala, and Bhupalpally constituencies.
