A petty clash that took place between two groups took violent form in the early hours of Monday which injured many people including three policemen. The incident took place in Bhainsa town of Nirmal district as a spat between two communal groups in Korbagalli area worsened which led to high tension around the town. Both groups resorted to pelting stones at each other who torched about 23 bikes, 2 autos and a car parked by the streets. The angry mob created chaos vandalising almost 16 houses creating a violent atmosphere for the villagers. Witnesses stated that one of the groups even threw a gas cylinder into the fire.
The groups tried their hands on the police officers also who were deployed to bring the situations under control. District SP Shashidhar Raju, Bhainsa DSP Narsingh Rao and urban CI Srinivas were reportedly injured. All the injured were rushed to the nearest hospital. In the wake of this incident, Nirmal district collector M Prasanthi visited the town and reviewed the situation. Upon which Section 144 section was imposed in the town though situations, for now, are under control.
