While the number of positive cases from across the country is souring with each passing day, the Indian government has been facing the flare of global health experts over less testings. Until now, India has tested 12,426 people nearly 9.2 tests per million people which is competitively less than the standards set by World Health Organisation(WHO). So far the country has registered the positive cases with the people who had the travel history to infected nations.
In a recent revelation, the country registered a couple of positive cases with the people with no foreign travel history. Raising alarm over the spreading novel virus, Tamil Nadu and Pune registered two community spread cases. In Tamil Nadu, 20-year-old Delhi resident who didn’t have any history of travel abroad or any contact was tested positive on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the hospital authorities at Bharti Hospital in Pune confirmed that a woman in her early 40s has tested positive for coronavirus. The woman who is now on ventilator support also doesn’t have any history of travelling abroad but had travelled to Vashi in Navi Mumbai to attend a wedding on March 3. With the country registering community spread cases, tensions ran high in India while the novel virus seems to level up.
