At a time when it has to fight over public issues and government policies, Congress is still plagued by some kind of internal struggle. With the entry of party Telangana in-charge Manik Rao Thackeray, everyone is making efforts to adjust internally as well as externally. But now, parallel to Revanth Reddy’s padayatra, another trip has been sketched.
In continuation of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, AICC has directed the PCCs of all states to organize padayatras in the name of Hath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyan across the country. As part of this, Hath Se Hath Jodo Abhiyaan Yatras are going on in all the constituencies. PCC President Revanth Reddy is going forward in the name of ‘Yatra for Change’ in the joint districts of Warangal and Khammam from the 6th of this month.
Already completed padayatra in 13 constituencies. The party sources feel that the party has got a bit of a boost as people are flocking to the rally meetings in Revanth Reddy’s padayatra. The Yatra will continue to explain the government’s failures in corner meetings and explain to the people what Congress will do if it comes to power. State affairs in charge Manik Rao Thackeray, CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka, campaign committee chairman Madhuyashki, senior leader VH, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar along with AICC secretaries are participating in the Revanth Yatra.
However, while the Revanth Yatra is continuing successfully, AICC Program Implementation Committee Chairman Aleti Maheswara Reddy is also preparing for another padayatra. A schedule has been announced to organize a parallel yatra named ‘Congress Telangana Poru Yatra’ from Adilabad to Hyderabad.
It has been revealed that this trip, which will start on March 3, will be conducted from Basara to Hyderabad for 20 days. Eleti Maheshwar Reddy made it clear that even if Revanth Reddy organizes the Yatra, even if they undertake it in the name of Telangana Poru Yatra, they are part of Hath Se Hath Jodo Abhiyaan.
A committee of 12 people has been formed under his chairmanship for the smooth running of this padayatra. Now the question has become how state affairs in-charge Manik Rao Thackeray and AICC secretaries will support Maheswara Reddy who says that he is conducting the padayatra only with the permission of the Congress leadership.
