In an official statement, AICC has announced its candidate Padmavati Reddy for the Huzurnagar constituency. Padmavati, wife of TPCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy has been the highly speculated name right from the day EC announced the schedule, though she lost the 2018 elections from Kodad constituency. The by-elections became inevitable after Uttam Kumar resigned to contest as the MP from Nalgonda. Padmavathi is going to lock horns with S Saidi Reddy and Srikala Reddy who are representing TRS and BJP respectively in the upcoming by-polls. Elections will be held on October 21, while the results are to be announced on October 24.
