Tension prevailed at TPCC president Revanth Reddy’s residence in Jubilee Hills on Tuesday when a group of activists from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi Vidyarthi (TRSV) staged a protest against his derogatory remarks against IT minister and TRS working president KTR.
Situations gripped out of normalcy with Congress party activists and police personnel stopping the TRS workers who barged to lay siege to the residence of Revanth Reddy at Jubilee Hills.
Both the groups pelted stones and sticks at each other while police intervene to bring the situation to control. TRS activists also tried to burn Revanth’s effigy. There were no reports of any injuries on either side.
Following the incident, police beefed up security around Revanth Reddy’s house. The protest came close on the heels of KTR filing a defamation suit against Revanth who was alleged to make derogatory remarks.
As the TPCC chief had alleged that the minister has links with drug scandal and challenged KTR to come forward to undergo drug test, the latter said that he was ready to undergo drug test if Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also comes forward to give his samples.
