The trial on the bail petition of the accused in the conspiracy case for the murder of Minister Srinivas Gowda is over. Judgment on bail was reserved by the Medchal Court. The case was adjourned till March 31. During the hearing on the bail petition, the counterparty filed a complaint stating that the accused should not be granted bail.
The public prosecutor urged the court that bail must not be granted to the convicts as they might cause harm to the witnesses, adding that the case is quite serious at this point in time.
On the other hand, the police custody of the accused has already ended. The lawyer for the accused requested the judge to grant bail to those in custody. They assured the court that they would co-operate in all possible ways for the trial. The Defense Council brought to the court’s attention that it had examined the scene of the offense. Police explained that there were no CCTV cameras in the area where the incident took place.
“But there are more than 30 CCTV cameras in the area,” the defense lawyer said. They assume that the police are filing the counter complaints on purpose. After hearing arguments from both sides, the judge reserved judgment. The next hearing was adjourned until the 31st of this month.
