Known for its well-established service sector, Indian IT companies and MNCs fell the prime victim to the Coronavirus which has been spreading its wings in India. Amongst the 53 patients who were so far tested positive, the majority turned out to be techies working for various MNCs which raised tensions, especially in Bangalore and Chennai.
While many of the companies announced work-from-home for all the employees across the country, a few of the companies have ramped up in curbing the spread of the novel virus. All such MNCs have ordered for thermal sensors and few other types of equipment which helps in screening the temperatures of employees while entering the premises of the offices.
Maximum of the companies have banned handshakes and has replaced all the biometric machines with card punching machines. Besides encouraging the employees to frequently wash hands and use sanitisers, the companies closed down canteens and hanging points to avoid group talks. Companies have been reportedly sanitising the office premises on every other day possible to avoid the spread of the virus.
