Fright continued to gloom India while the country is fast inching towards the 16 lakh-mark. In the wake of the union government announcing Unlock-3 further easing the guidelines, states registered 52,123 positive cases in the last 24 hours.
According to the latest update from the Union Health Ministry, the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in India have risen to 15,83,792. The total death toll rose to 34,968 with 775 fatalities registered on Thursday.
Maharastra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi continued to register a maximum number of cases while Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka are recording a sharp surge in cases.
Data from the health officials confirmed that a total of 5,28,242 people are being treated for corona across the country while were 10,20,582 cured/discharged/migrated. On a positive note, India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 64.4 per cent.
Meanwhile, situations in Telugu states, especially in Andhra Pradesh, seems to grip out of hands as the state registered as many as 10,093 new cases on Thursday. The total fatalities now stand at 1,213 throwing new challenges to the state government.
Telangana on the other hand, registered 1,811 new positive cases while all 33 districts in the state were under corona shadow.
