While the corona curve of new cases across the country has seen a rare dip from the past seven days, the total tally crossed the 56-lakh mark on Wednesday. In a fresh revelation, the Indian states and union territories logged 83,347 new cases in the last 24 hours.
According to the latest reports from the union health ministry, the total caseload of the country is now at 56,46,010. On the other hand, India recorded 1,085 deaths from Tuesday morning taking the total death toll to 90,020.
Official data confirms that of the total cases registered so far, 45,87,614 patients cured/discharged/migrated while over 9,68,377 are fighting back the novel viral infection. Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have reported the highest number of cases. However, infections are rising rapidly in states like Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh has reported 7,553 new COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours on Tuesday taking the total tally to 6,39,302 with 5,62,376 recoveries and 5,461 deaths. Telangana on Wednesday registered 2,296 new Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths, pushing the tally to 1.77 lakh while the toll rose to 1,062, the state government bulletin.
