That was the time when the dreadful Coronavirus was at the peaks all across the world, the novel virus entered India. On February 3rd, India reported its first Coronavirus case in Kerala while the test results of the medical student from Wuhan tested positive. In no time, another two cases were reported in the same state adding to the global panic. However, the state health department took up the challenge to contain the novel virus.
Not only did the official make sure that the best treatment is offered to the infected, the government ensured the right information could go out and help educate the public. The authorities roped in local level volunteers who helped in curbing the panic. The volunteers deployed were to raise awareness at ground level circulating the basic precautions o be taken. While the government’s motto has been preventing the panic, standing as an example to other states.
However, seems like Telangana is not interested in taking the same path in containing the virus which has been taking the toll at the nation’s health scenario. The picture of the first infected Hyderabadi in Gandhi Hospital which took way into the public sphere through social has shocked the citizens. The measures taken at the isolation ward set up for coronavirus infected drew flak while none of the staff and doctors were seen with hazmat suits.
A few of the doctors treating the infected are openly expressing their discontent over the government’s negligence towards containing the viral infection. It was also reported that the hospital ran our of protection masks, that helps in taking basic precaution. Adding to the flare, the hospital staff were seen distributing homoeopathy medicine to the people visiting hospital.
