Marking the first case in Tamil Nadu, the state health minister on Saturday confirmed that the dreadful Coronavirus entered the South Indian state. A 45-year-old man who recently visited Oman has tested positive for the coronavirus infection. He has reportedly arrived at the Chennai airport on February 28th and was subjected to screening with 14 days of quarantine.
Days after which the resident of Kancheepuram started developing difficulty in breathing with symptoms like fever and cough. He was rushed to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) in Chennai and the blood samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune. The test results turned positive soon after which the patient was shifted to isolation wards while eight of his family members and 19 others were placed under observation.
