India’s positivity graph refused to slow down while the country on Monday reported 62,064 new cases in the last 24 hours. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, the total caseload in India has now risen to 22,15,075.
Of the total recorded cases, 6,34,945 are active cases, while 15,35,744 patients have already been cured/discharged/migrated. The Indian states registered as many as 1,007 new fatalities taking the corona death toll to 44,386. Tensions ran high in the country while the country has been registering more than 60,000 cases from the past four days.
As per the data from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total number of Covid-19 samples tested up to 9th August is 2,45,83,558 including 4,77,023 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
On the other hand, India’s coronavirus recoveries crossed the 15 lakh mark. Infections still remain concentrated in 10 states that contribute more than 80% of the new cases.
In a shocking study it was observed that India from the past one week has been registering positive cases more than the United States and Brazil, two countries that have greater number of people infected by the virus till now. Globally, over 19.5 million cases of coronavirus and 7.25 lakh deaths have been reported.
