Days after surpassing Mexico standing as the second worst-hit nation in the world, panic gloomed India with the country registering almost 1 lakh cases on Thursday.
According to the latest reports from the union health ministry, India in the last 24 hours logged 95,735 new Covid cases, the highest single-day spike so far.
With which the Indian states and union territories till date recorded 44,65,864 new positive cases while 1,152 new casualties recorded over the past 24 hours took the death toll to 75,062. As the official data confirms 34,71,784 cured/discharged/migrated so far, the country’s recovery rate was observed to record a gradual spike.
Of the total cases registered so far, 9,19,018 people are currently undergoing treatment. The total number of samples tested up to 9th September is 5,29,34, 433 including 11, 29,756 samples tested on Wednesday, confirmed ICMR.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday reported 10,418 new COVID-19 cases taking the total number of cases in the state to 5,27,512. The death toll due to COVID-19 stands at 4,634 after 74 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Telangana, on the other hand, logged 2,534 new cases on Thursday while the total case load crossed the 1.5 lakh-mark. 11 patients succumbed to the deadly viral infection from Wednesday morning taking the total toll to 927.
