With the sudden spurt in the number of cases from the past few days, Andhra Pradesh in Tuesday reached to third worst-corona hit states in the country.
As per the data released by the state health officials, Andhra Pradesh’s COVID-19 tally went up to 2,44,549 on Tuesday with 9,024 fresh cases registered in the past 24 hours.
The total death toll of the state reached to 2,203 with 87 new fatalities. Of the overall cases registered so far, there are 87,597 active cases currently undergoing treatment while 1,54,759 have recovered till date.
According to the health bulletin released on Tuesday, 58,315 people have been tested in the last 24 hours in the AP, 25,92,619 people have been tested so far.
The infection positivity rate rose further to 9.43 per cent while East Godavari and Kurnool districts contributed to the bulk of the new cases with 1,372 and 1,138 respectively.
