Widespread Coronavirus which claimed almost 2,943 lives left a dreadful impression on China, the epicentre of the novel virus. While most of the cities were locked down including Wuhan, the normal life of the citizens have become a nightmare as they restrained to their respective houses.
While the maximum of the companies instructed the employees to work from home, more than half of the small scale businesses were seen shitting down. Which resulted in the economic slow down with companies showing losses.
However, the lockdown reaped an interesting benefit! According to the recent satellite images provided by NASA, the pollution levels in China drastically reduced. While most of the power plants and industrial facilities remained shut down there has been a drastic decrease in the production of Nitrogen dioxide.
The latest images were compared with the images taken from the first two months of 2019. Various air quality researcher at NASA opined that this wasn’t observed in the last 10 years while the pollution percentages usually increase during Chinese New Year celebrations
