The health condition of former President Pranab Mukherjee, who was admitted to the Army Research and Referral Hospital on Monday, has reportedly worsened.
Sources at the hospital revealed that the 84-year-old-leader was still on the ventilator fighting back his critical condition after undergoing an emergency brain surgery. It can be noted that he was also found to be Covid-19 positive.
A multidisciplinary team of doctors monitoring his health condition said that the surgery became inevitable with Mukherjee turning positive. Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Monday visited the Army (R&R) Hospital and spent almost half an hour there.
Revealing that his tests turned positive, former president Pranab Mukherjee in a tweet urged people who came in contact with him in the last week to get tested and self isolate themselves.
On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID19 today.
I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19. #CitizenMukherjee— Pranab Mukherjee (@CitiznMukherjee) August 10, 2020
Prayers poured in for Pranab on social media from the political fraternity irrespective of the party.
