Amidst health ministry’s claims that country comparatively has comparatively less fatality, India on Wednesday recorded over 60,000 news cases after the coronagraph dipped a bit on Tuesday.
According to the recent health bulletin released by the Union Health Ministry, India registered 60,963 new positive cases taking the total caseload in the country to 23,29,639 so far.
On the 142nd day since India implemented a nationwide lockdown, 834 new causalities were reported across the states in the last 24 hours. With this, the total death toll mounted to 46,091 till date.
It can be noted that there are 6,43,948 active cases while 16,39,600 patients were cured/discharged/migrated. The country has the third-highest cases in the world after the US and Brazil. On the positive side, India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 69.80 per cent.
Meanwhile, corona continued to take a toll at Telugu states while AP claimed to third worst-corona hit states in the country. Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday registered 9,024 new cases reported in 24 hours the biggest single-day spike so far while the overall tally rose to 2,44,549.
Telangana, on the other hand, 1,897 new cases and 9 deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the tally to 84,544 and the toll to 654.
