Hollywood stars, politician, global leaders…the Coronavirus outbreak hasn’t left even the lord Gods. Days after Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) announced a ban on NRI and foreign devotees, the governing body of holy shrine Tirumala has decided to shut down the sevas for all the devotees. Reportedly, the TTD authorities have deployed police officials who are blocking the devotees Alipiri Checkpost from reaching Tirumala.
With the number of positive cases increasing with each passing day, TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy called for an emergency meeting after which the board decided to close the sevas available for the general devotees. Talking to the media over the same, Subba Reddy urged pilgrims to cancel and postpone the visit until the outbreak slows down.
The official also confirmed that the footfall has been drastically decreasing from the past few days in the wake of increasing positive cases in both the Telugu states. TTD also announced that they would refund complete amount to the pilgrims who pre-booked tickets for Aarjiitha Seva, Rs 300 special Dharshan and accommodation until May 31st. All main gates and centres are equipped with a sufficient number of paramedical staff, medicines and screening equipment.
