For the 7th consecutive day, coronavirus cases in India crossed the 45,000 cases-mark taking the total caseload to 15,31,669 lakh by Wednesday. While Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat continued to report the highest number of cases, 48, 512 new cases were registered across the states.
According to the recent health bulletin released by the Union Health Ministry, 768 fatalities are registered, taking the total death toll to 34,193. However, a sudden spike in cases in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh have become a new concern to the health officials.
As many as 9,88,029 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far while the recovery rate continued to rise which now stands at 64.5 per cent. A total of 1,77,43,740 samples for Covid-19 were tested across the country so far including 4,08,855 samples tested yesterday, stated the Indian Council of Medical Research.
