While the common man is already suffocated with various taxes levied by both state and central government, the on-going corona crisis came as an added bane for Indian middle class. Days after Delhi government decided to remove 70 per cent ‘special corona tax’ on liquor amid the coronavirus pandemic, another such tax came to limelight on Monday.
But this time it is the private companies under the name of ‘safety and hygiene tax’ are looting the common man. Under the name of safety steps taken in their premises, certain private businesses are observed to be levying corona tax up to 50 per cent. The issue came to limelight with a customer taking to social media to upload a saloon bill from Chennai. Aren’t the state governments aware of this tax..?
As many of the businesses are secretly adding this tax, many of them revealed that the government officials are well aware of the scenario but are mum. Reacting to the bill, netizens lashed out on the organisation demanding government officials to take immediate action.
