Setting off the danger bells in the country, India on Thursday recorded the biggest single-day jump in the positive cases. In a fresh revelation, the Indian states and union territories logged 83,883 new positive cases in the last 24 hours while the total caseload of the country stands at 38,53,407.
The total death toll, on the other hand, reached to 67,376 with 1,043 new fatalities from Wednesday morning. According to the official data furnished by the Union Health Ministry, of the total cases registered so far, India has 8,15,538 active cases while a total of 29,70,493 have cured/discharged/migrated.

A total of 4,55,09,380 samples were tested for corona till date while 11,72179 samples were tested on September 2nd alone, stated ICMR. Meanwhile, Telangana reported 2,817 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 1,33,406 while 10 more deaths pushed the toll to 856.
Andhra Pradesh continued as the state on Wednesday added 10,000 plus fresh infections for the eighth straight day, taking the count past the 4.5 lakh mark. On the global front, Coronavirus so far directed impacted more than 25 million people in 188 countries while more than 850,000 people have lost their lives.
