Covid Cases on the rise; PM Modi reviews…
The steady increase in the Covid cases in India is a cause of concern and Central Government has immediately taken corrective measures. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a high level review meeting on Wednesday to discuss on Covid and related issues. During this review meeting, it was discussed about the issue of number of cases increasing in six states and the Union Health Ministry has cautioned these states. They were directed to identify those clusters from where these new cases are emerging. In the past 24 hours, there are 1,134 new Corona cases registered and the total number of active cases got increased to 7,026.

- Five patients affected with Covid have lost their lives. The Health Ministry has revealed that these deaths have occurred in Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Kerala states. The daily positivity rate stands at 1.09% and weekly positivity rate recorded as 0.98%, according to the ministry.
- In Delhi alone 83 cases were registered yesterday. For the past few days, there was a spurt in the number of cases in H3N2 Influenza variant also. The Hospitals are once again abuzz with the increased number of patients. In Maharashtra, 280 new Corona cases were reported as per concerned government sources.
- Last Thursday, the Government of India’s Health Ministry has written to states including Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to help arrest the upsurge of the Covid related cases in their respective states. PM Modi has suggested that now, focus should not only be on rise in Covid cases but also on Influenza related cases as well.
- The PM reiterated the need for making available all the required medicines at all the designated medical facilities. He was reminding and re calling about the precautionary steps taken earlier, in this regard and the need to once again focus on the same.
