While various statistics continued to support the central government’s claim over a constant dip in corona cases in the country India on Monday logged corona cases below the 70,000-mark. According to the latest reports from the union health ministry, the Indian states and union territories in the last 24 hours registered 66,732 new COVID cases taking the total caseload of the country to 71,20,539.
Of the total infections, the recoveries stand at 61,49,536, while 8,61,853 cases are still active. With increasing recoveries, India has sustained its leading global position with the maximum recovered cases. On the other hand, India reported 816 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total toll to 1,09,150.
9,94,851 samples tested for COVID19 yesterday. Total 8,78,72,093 samples tested in the country up to 11th October, stated ICMR on Monday.
Meanwhile, in Andhra the latest media bulletin released by the State Command Control Room, 75,517 samples were tested in the 24 hours ending Sunday 9 am, out of which 5,210 returned positive. 30 more patients succumbed to the disease, increasing the Covid toll to 6,224.
Telangana logged 1,021 new cases on Monday while the total caseload crossed 2,13,084. 6 patients succumbed to the deadly viral infection from Thursday morning taking the total toll to 1,228.
