While India continued to stay in the top three worst-hit countries in the world, the country has been reporting sudden fluctuations from the past few days-dip being crucial. Various statistics as well as support the central government’s claim over a constant dip in corona cases in the country. People’s movement and interactions would only have increased, not gone down, during this time.
Anecdotal evidence would suggest that adoption of face masks and adherence to physical distancing measures are far from being universal. And the disease prevalence in the community, as measured by the sero-survey results, do not indicate to have reached levels from where the epidemic would be expected to begin its decline.
India, on the other hand, has exceeded the 140 tests per day for per million population, as advised by the World Health Organization (WHO) for comprehensive surveillance, of COVID-19 by nearly six times, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Monday.
Meanwhile, India on Monday registered 74,442 new cases and 903 causalities while India’s Covid-19 tally crosses 66-lakh mark.
