In an initiative which is receiving appraise from all the corners, Madhya Pradesh government has decided to form a ‘Cow Cabinet’ which includes officials from seven different government departments to coordinate on one single cause.
But what is this Cow Cabinet..?
Called for a cause to protect and promote the cows in the state, Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led state government has decided to form a cabinet which comprises Animal husbandry, Forest, Panchayat, Rural Development, Home and Farmer Welfare departments.
“The first meeting will be held on November 22 at 12 noon on Gopashtami at Gau Sanctuary, Agar Malwa,” the Chief Minister said in a tweet while November 22 falls on the eve of Gopasthami, a festival dedicated to Lord Krishna.
Through this cabinet, the government will provide for sustainable infrastructure for developing a cow-economy to raise incomes in the rural setup,” the CM further said.
The decision also aims at developing an alternative source of rural employment by harnessing the potential of cows and the resources available through it.
