This ace cricketer from Haryana is dearly called ‘Haryana Hurricane, and he created a plethora of records during his long tenure as the captain of Team India. Until today, Kapil was never affiliated with any political party. There is always one or the other news stating that he might join a certain party, however, nothing of such sort has happened. News has it that Kapil Dev will be going to the Rajya Sabha on behalf of the BJP filling one of the 4 vacant seats under the Presidential quota. It seems that BJP leaders have consulted Kapil about this. Kapil has good relations with both Congress and the BJP. That is why there are occasional reports in the national media that he is joining Congress or the BJP.
It has been reported that he might also join the AAP. Haryana will go to the polls in 2024. It was during this sequence that Kejriwal met Kapil a few days back. With this, the campaign went on making it evident that he is all set and ready to join the AAP. But Kapil denied the news outright. He said he was not affiliated with any political party and he would publicly announce if he ever took such a big step.
