While the heavy rains continued to lash as cyclonic storm Gulab made a landfall 20km north of Kalingapatnam on Sunday evening with gales reaching 95kmph, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has put Hyderabad on high alert. Official orders were issued by the GHMC to take necessary measures quickly, in order to handle any possible emergencies that might arise.
A red alert has been issued for 14 districts of the state including Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal (Rural), Warangal (Urban), Janagaon, Siddipet, Kamareddy.

Andhra Pradesh, on the other hand, continued to have heavy rain lash while a fisherman died whose boat was capsized in the Bay of Bengal near Akkupalle in Srikakulam district. Trains were cancelled and fishermen evacuated as heavy rains hit north coastal Andhra.
