In what can be quoted as a corrective measure to pacify the negativity for launching the Dalit Bandhu scheme in only Huzurabad, the KCR-led Telangana government on Wednesday extended the scheme to four more mandals of four SC Reserved Assembly constituencies in the State simultaneously.
Madhira, Tungaturthi, Achampeta and Jukkal assembly constituencies which have the majority of the Dalit population are included in the list. However, only certain mandals in the districts are covered in the scheme, unlike Huzurabad where all the mandals are covered.
The decision was taken in the review meeting held with Ministers, MLAs, District Collectors after the TRS supremo came back from a brief Delhi visit. Reports have it that officials conveyed the negativity amongst the Dalit communities regarding the scheme over which the CM took the decision to extend the scheme.
Meanwhile, the government has started identifying the beneficiaries in Huzurabad and started door to door survey to implement the scheme, and released Rs. 2000 crore in four installments.
