Setting off the danger bells, India on Friday registered the alarming 62,538 cases which has been the highest single-day hike so far. With which, the total caseload in the country crossed the 20 lakh-mark while over 41,000 people have died across the country.
According to the recent health bulletin released by the Union Health Ministry, the total number of corona cases registered so far stands at 20,27,074 including 6,07,384 active cases, 13,78,106 cured/discharged/migrated. With 886 new coronavirus deaths, India’s Covid-19 death toll has reached 41,585.
The total number of Covid-19 samples tested so far is 2,27,24,134 including 5,74,783 samples tested on August 6th. The official data confirmed India’s recovery rate as over 67% right now while the mortality rate among coronavirus cases is at 2.05%.
Andhra Pradesh registered a single-day spike of 10,328 new Covid-19 cases, raising the overall tally to 1,96,789. There were 72 deaths due to the viral infection in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 1,753 in the last 24 hours.
Telangana, on the other hand, reporting 2,207 cases in the last 24 hours, the total number of coronavirus infections in the states rose to 1,29,097.
