Setting off the danger bells, India on Wednesday surpassed the 50 Lakh COVID Cases-Mark. While the health officials heaved a sigh of relieve with a decrease of cases on Tuesday, the Indian states and union territories yet again logged more than 90,000 cases in the last 24 hours.
According to the latest reports from the union health ministry, the total caseload of the country is now at 50,20,360 with 90,123 fresh infections. On the other hand, India recorded 1,290 deaths from Tuesday morning taking the total death toll to 82,066.
Official data confirms that of the total cases registered so far, 39,42,361 cured/discharged/migrated while over 9,95,933 people are undergoing treatment. A total of 5,94,29,115 samples were tested for corona till date while 11,16,842 samples were tested on September 15 alone.

Meanwhile, Telangana added 2,273 new coronavirus cases along with 12 fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the tally of infections in the state to over 1.62 lakh. The death toll currently stands at 996.
Andhra Pradesh showed a slight dip in the cases while the state reported 8,846 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday, which took the overall tally to 5,83,925. The COVID-19 toll in the state crossed the 5,000-mark with 69 new fatalities.
