Things took an unexpected turn in Andhra Pradesh with the state registering a sharp rise in coronavirus cases from the past few days. Leaving the health officials and citizen in shock, AP on Wednesday recorded 10,093 cases in the last 24 hours which is claimed to be the sharpest single-day spike.
While the overall tally shoots up to 1,17,495, the total fatalities now stand at 1,213 throwing new challenges to the state government. According to the data released by the state health authorities, 2,784 patients recovered from the viral infection in the last 24 hours taking the total recovered strength to 55,406.
The officials claimed to test over 70, 584 people from Tuesday morning amongst which 10,093 turned out to be positive. Officials confirmed that there are 63,771 active cases in the state. Meanwhile, the delay in test results has become a new concern for the officials as suspected cases are observed to be reluctant to remain in home quarantine until results arrive.
