“Totally under control,” has been the constant statement given by Donald Trump, the President of the U.S. who is now facing severe criticism over repeatedly dismissing the severity of the infection. However, seems like the hard-hitting realities changed Trump’s mind who recently stated that the nation is going through hard and painful times.
White House officials are projecting between 100,000 and 240,000 deaths in the U.S. with coronavirus fatalities peaking over the next two weeks. Reportedly, the U.S. has more coronavirus cases than any other country across the globe with 184,000 confirmed infections. The economy was seen devastating with a constant plummet while many of the leading multi-national companies shutting down with loses like never before.
In response to which, Donald Trump has announced the introduction of a $2 trillion infrastructure bill, as the U.S. economy continues its drip. It’s also forecasting a massive 34% drop in economic output in the next quarter. On this note, a number of reports floated blaming Trump as one of the reasons for the devastating situations in the U.S while one of the leading magazines claimed it as a Trump-made crisis. Indeed, he recklessly threatened to call off social distancing guidelines necessitated by the pandemic in weeks rather than months.
Trump was in denial on the oncoming virus snubbing the constant reports from a number of health experts. This left the US hopelessly unprepared when it predictably became a full-blown epidemic. Trump also happened to claim the US’ Federal Drug Authority had approved an anti-malaria vaccine to treat coronavirus which was later evened to be false.
With the number of positive case and deaths reaching to the unexpected number, it was rumoured that the country is now approaching China and Cuba for the support. There has been the number of such cases where Trump stood as a standing example for the leadership failure while the pandemic is at the active stage.
