The anti-CAA protests in Northeast Delhi took the violent form while the number of deaths hit 13 on Wednesday. The intense clashes which started off on Sunday with the anti-CAA and pro-CAA protestors broke into a clash in Northeast Delhi. The Delhi police imposing Section 144 in the region, however, didn’t bring the situations under control. Apart from the shoot-at-sight orders and curfew, Delhi police personnel and Rapid Action Force (RAF) & CRPF were visible in the riot-hit areas.
Reportedly, over 200 have been injured including Delhi police while 11 FIRs were registered across the Northeast Delhi. Videos and images from the area are now making rounds in social media. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took to his Twitter account to express his disappointment over Delhi Police that they have been unable to control the situation and instil confidence.
