The Delhi Liquor Scam case is creating excitement day by day. A hearing was held on Thursday in the CBI court at Rouse Avenue on the supplementary charge sheet filed by the ED as part of this case. On this occasion, the ED officials produced the accused in court. The court directed the ED to hand over the charge sheet filed by the ED along with the supplementary charge sheet to the accused within a week. The next hearing was adjourned to March 17.
However, there were arguments in the CBI court on the interim bail petition filed by accused Sameer Mahendru in the liquor policy case. Sameer Mahendru was produced in court by the authorities, where he asked for bail for surgery due to kidney stones.
On this occasion, ED claims that they are doing health check-ups on Mahendru from time to time. The authorities brought to the attention of the court that they are not obstructing his treatment. But the ED officials asked the court to deny the bail as the petitioner’s case was not so serious.
After hearing the arguments of the lawyer on behalf of Sameer Mahendru, he said that it is the constitutional right to preserve health even if he is in custody, and even if he has to undergo surgery, he is being given temporary painkillers. He said he would be available to talk about the case even if he was granted bail to undergo surgery. After hearing arguments from both sides, the judge adjourned the verdict on the bail petition to February 28.
