A key development has taken place in the Delhi liquor scam. Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has recently been arrested by the CBI in this case. CBI has showered questions on him since this morning. After a long interrogation for about 8 hours, the CBI took him into custody.
He was A1 in CBI FIR in Delhi Liquor Scam. CBI interrogated him in October last year in this case. It then filed a charge sheet on November 25. Latest today he reached the CBI headquarters at 11.12 am for questioning.
He made important remarks before attending the hearing. He said that he is going to a CBI investigation and that he would cooperate with the authorities in the investigation. He said that the blessings of lakhs of children and crores of people of Delhi are with him, and he is not afraid even if he has to stay in jail for a few months, adding that he mentioned that he is a follower of Bhagat Singh who was hanged for the country. He claimed that going to jail on such false charges was a trivial matter for him.
In the past, there were allegations of irregularities in the new liquor policy brought by the AAP government. In this order, the Chief Secretary of Delhi has given a report that this liquor policy has been framed with procedural errors including violation of rules.
The report stated that changes were made in the procedure of tenders to benefit some people. The name of Manish Sisodia, who is the minister in charge of the Abkari department, has been included in the report. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has recommended the Central Investigation Agency investigate the matter.
