Unexpected developments are taking place in the sensational Delhi liquor scam case. Five accused were granted temporary bail on Tuesday and on Wednesday the name of another Hyderabadi came out in this case. In the memo, ED mentions the name of Praveen Gorakavi. A charge has been registered against him for diverting funds in a scam. There are allegations that funds have been diverted to the Dubai company as well as to the Phi company.
Praveen is the founder of Phi Company. ED says that funds were diverted to that company in the form of hawala. Praveen is a close friend of Buchi Babu, a chartered accountant from Hyderabad. ED officials are investigating his role more deeply. In previous searches, Rs 24 lakh cash was found in Praveen’s house.
ED officials have already arrested many people from Telugu states in this case. Others were interrogated. Now that Praveen’s name has come to the fore, suspicions are being expressed that there is no possibility of the names of some others in the case also coming out. The ED is investigating the extent of Praveen’s connection with the Delhi liquor scam.
On Tuesday, Rouse Avenue Court granted interim bail to the accused. Kuldeep Singh, Narender Singh, Mutta Gautam, Arun Pillai, and Sameer Mahendra have been granted bail. The case has become a topic of discussion due to the involvement of some ruling party leaders from Telugu states in this scam and the arrest of many people.
