Kapil Mishra and Delhi riots…the duo set ripples in Delhi politics as the BJP leader was accused of triggering the riots in Northeast Delhi that killed 53 people and injured over 500. While the protestors vandalised public & private properties and set vehicles ablaze, the riots left the government with damage in crores. Nearly 90 days since the riots took place, Kapil Mishra who already raised over Rs 71 lakh through crowdfunding earlier, has hit it yet again.
In a recent revelation, the BJP leader who contested and lost in the recent Delhi assembly polls took to social media to kick-start a fundraising campaign to help 150 Hindu families lost their loved ones in the riots. Mishra has set a target of collecting one crore while hashtag over the same #1Crore4DelhiHindu was seen trending on social media with BJP supporters sharing the screenshots of the donations made.
As mention on his official website, the goal of the campaign is to disburse Rs 15 lakh per affected family. On this note, the leader stated that the campaign and the respective account will be managed by Dharma Kosh, a group of Dharmic volunteers and Kapil Mishra’s team. Meanwhile, the campaign has been receiving criticism over the agenda of helping only Hindu families which triggered communal war-of-words in the comment sections.
