AAP on Monday called for protests across the country to condemn the arrest of Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in the liquor scam. The CBI yesterday questioned him for more than 8 hours on several issues related to the excise policy formulated for the year 2021-22.
However, Sisodia told the CBI officials that he was not involved in any corruption. In the wake of AAP calling for massive rallies to protest the arrest of their leader, the police have tightened security in many places including Delhi.
It seems that the CBI may present Sisodia in court soon. The authorities may ask the court to hand him over to their custody.
They allege that he did not give proper answers to many of the questions asked by them and did not cooperate with their investigation. BJP leader Kapil Mishra demanded that Sisodia and AAP leader Satyender Jain, who are facing corruption charges, should be removed from the cabinet.
