Kakinada: ‘Royal Vasishta Punnami’, the private tourist boat which left unfadable scars on the lives of 77 tourists has lost the last hope of seeing the light. Dharmadi Satyam and his team who have started the rescue operation with all the necessary equipment are now struck with the various adversities. To hasten up the search operation to trace 15 missing bodies, the state government has taken the help of a Kakinada-based company Balaji Marines which started the rescue operation with the help of 25 fishermen and experts led by Dharmadi Satyam. Apparently, Balaji Marines has signed an agreement with the state government for a whopping amount Rs 22.70 lakhs.
The team is carrying out the rescue operation from the last four days with the help of a crane, proclainer, 800-meter wire, two anchors, three Leyland ropes, ten jockeys and other equipment. However, there has been no progress pertaining to heavy rains from the last two days and floodwater gushing. Till now, all that was done by Dharmadi Satyam team went in vain and on the whole Balaji Marines failed to bring out a boat that was trapped in the sand at a depth of 250 feet. There is no proper information on whether the team will resume the rescue operation after the severity of flood comes down.
