TJS President Kodandaram has expressed concern that the state has been taken hostage by one man’s family. The National flag was hoisted at the party office in Nampally on the occasion of State Formation Day. Speaking to the media afterward, he criticized the state government, saying that the state was formed as a result of long struggles and movements, and now it is blatantly ruled by an authoritarian regime.
“Telangana was not formed by a single person,” Kodandaram said. He recalled that Swarashtra was possible as a result of many struggles. He said that Telangana was achieved as a result of many groups of people participating in the rebellion. He explained that the people of Telangana had contributed to the formation of their motherland in numerous ways. He summarized that the Telangana state is the result of a combined effort.
He said that many youths had sacrificed their lives for the formation of the Telangana state and made it clear that they would launch movements against the current anti-people government. He said the people of Telangana want self-respect, and asked the activists to come forward and participate in the protest on fighting for their self-respect which would be held near Indira Park on the 6th. He urged the activists to spread the word and asked everyone to take part in it.
He called on the people to take part in the protests and fight for the development activities in Telangana state which are currently at a halt. Kodandaram further reminded the people of those days when the people of Telangana fought for self-respect and not for anything less than that. Comparing the past with KCR’s regime, he urged the citizens of the state to take to the streets and move forward with protests. He declared that none of the promised assurances were fulfilled under KCR’s governance.
